Church News and Information Twenty-one members and friends of Messiah spent the week after Easter in New Orleans helping with the repair of two homes.

Bill Manthey wrote the following:

ARRIVAL: It’s a hot & sunny day as we drive from the airport to St. Paul Lutheran Church & School. No flooding here but much damage to the inside of the church due to Katrina’s winds & rain and the damaged bell tower -- we are warmly greeted by Pam Hunter who gives us a tour of the school, our home for the week, and assigns our work sites – Paula Mickan takes groups of us on tours where major destruction took place – entire neighborhoods devastated, many stores and shopping centers partially wrecked and totally abandoned.
