Serving our Lord and his Church at Messiah's worship services this weekend—

Walter F. Raum, a member of Messiah since 1963, fell asleep in the Lord this past Saturday, March 3. His death was sudden and unexpected. A service of thanksgiving for his life of witness and service will be held at Messiah on Friday, March 9, beginning at 1 p.m.
Walt served twice as president of the congregation, from 1977 to 1978, and again from 1991 to 1994. On both occasions...

Messiah's Vacation Bible School will take place July 24 through 28, 9:00 a.m. until Noon each day. There are programs for children who are 4 years old up to children who are 5th graders.

Dan and Nick Dixon continue to serve in Iraq.

Messiah member Dan Dixon has sent some photos from Iraq, where he arrived within the past two weeks for a tour of duty with a U.S. Special Forces unit. His twin brother Nick, also with the Special Forces, arrived in the country at about the same time. To reach the photos quickly, click here. Deaconess Paula Mickan, Messiah member and nurse at Lutheran Hospital, has been serving with a relief team in New Orleans for the past week and a half. A world premiere of an original composition by Messiah member, Dan Shell, will be performed on Sunday, May 1, 7:30 pm, by the Lorain County Community College Civic Orchestra. The piece, entitled 'A Clarinet Romance" for solo clarinet and orchestra, will be performed by Deb Shell, also a Messiah member. The concert, which also includes Brahms' 2nd Symphony, will be held at Stocker Center, on the Lorain County Community College campus. Gordon Bliss, a long-time member of Messiah, fell asleep in the Lord in the early hours of Saturday, March 12. The funeral will take place at the church on Wednesday, March 16, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Donlan Funeral Home, 15408 Triskett Ave., Cleveland.

Members and friends are invited to join the Chip DiFiore family at a memorial service for Chip's father, Ed DiFiore, Sr. The service will be held in the Messiah Commons on Saturday, May 5, at 12:30 p.m. A light reception will follow.

Jim Frounfelker, a member of Messiah since 2000, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, February 10. His funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, February 15, at 1:30 p.m. It will take place at Messiah.

Nikolais Krutowskis, father of Messiah member Christa Turnbull, was called to his eternel rest on Monday, January 31st. He will be buried on Thursday, February 3. For details of the final arrangements, click here.

Long-time Messiah member Gordon Thompson fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, November 28. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2, 10:30 a.m., at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Bay Village, where Gordon had been attending services for the past two years.
